The American Association of Directors of Psychiatric Residency Training [AADPRT] is a national organization of approximately 425 psychiatrists dedicated to maximizing the psychiatric care available to the 25% of all people who are afflicted with mental disorders, and their families. It strives to achieve this goal by promoting the highest standards possible in psychiatric residency education. The AADPRT's membership includes general and child and adolescent psychiatry residency training directors, assistant and associate training directors, psychiatric subspecialty training directors (Geriatric psychiatry, Addiction psychiatry, and Forensic psychiatry), chairpersons and division chiefs and educators in psychiatric training.
