The Anxiety Disorders Association of America [ADAA], a national non-profit organization, is dedicated to promoting the welfare of people with anxiety disorders.

Founded in 1980 as The Phobia Society of America, the organization expanded its scope in 1990 to encompass the full range of anxiety disorders, and changed its name to ADAA to reflect this broadened perspective.

The purpose of the Anxiety Disorders Association of America is to promote the prevention and cure of anxiety disorders and to improve the lives of all people who suffer from them. Its members are individuals with anxiety disorders, clinicians and researchers who study and treat anxiety disorders, and other interested individuals.
