About: | The Harry Benjamin International Gender Dysphoria Association [HBIGDA] is a professional organization devoted to the understanding and treatment of gender identity disorders. There are approximately 350 members worldwide from the fields of psychiatry, endocrinology, surgery, psychology, sociology, and counseling.
The HBIGDA provides avenues for scientific interchange through its biannual conferences and publications. The HBIGDA is responsible for establishing Standards of Care for the treatment of gender identity disorders. These standards are internationally accepted guidelines that promote the health and welfare of individuals with gender dysphoria. |
