FSAM is a not for profit medical society dedicated to educating physicians and improving the treatment of individuals suffering from alcoholism or other addictions. FSAM members are physicians from all medical specialties and sub specialties. They are engaged in private practice, serve as corporate medical directors, and work in group practice or other clinical settings. A number are also involved in research and medical education.

• Assistance and advice in obtaining appropriate approvals to conduct related research studies

The FRDU has established a considerable and unique resource of materials which is of value to researchers working in the field of forensic mental health. It has set up a database of formal forensic assessments conducted in local facilities and has informal links to eminent forensic experts and research groups, both nationally and internationally. In consultation with a range of stakeholders in the Western Sydney (Australia) Area Mental Health Service, the Unit has prepared a draft policy regarding forensic research within the Area. It has also developed an information pack for intending forensic researchers, which includes guidance on procedures, protocol and approval mechanisms and outlines the services offered by the Unit.

FiP came into being in early 1997 to meet the need for a non-aligned, pluralistic, psychoanalytic organisation, and has attracted members from across the country and abroad.

FiP is an accrediting organisation of the Psychoanalytic and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy section of the UKCP.

FBR has been instrumental in improving communication between the scientific community and the American public, by encouraging individuals involved with animal research to speak out about their important work. Together, this unique coalition of researchers, voluntary health organizations, patients, and concerned citizens is refuting the lies and distortions being espoused by proponents of the multi-million dollar animal rights business.

FBR strongly supports humane care and treatment for all animals. In fact, good research depends upon responsible animal care, and there are strict laws and regulations that govern animal research.

FBR's sister organization -- The National Association for Biomedical Research [NABR] -- is dedicated to advocating sound public policy which recognizes the vital role of humane animal use in biomedical research, higher education and product safety testing.

FNIH offers NIH a way to partner with the private sector, including industry and non-governmental organizations [NGOs] in order to provide resources for NIH research activities, avoiding conflicts of interest. Accordingly, FNIH has developed a network of foundations, potential private-sector partners and federal agency contacts to draw upon for collaborative opportunities.

Objectives:

• Change the culture of research by funding programs and scholars who attempt to link levels of analysis
• Increase the degree to which research on human health, development, and well-being integrates Psychocultural and neurobiological influences
• Strengthen the theoretical and methodological tools required to facilitate the integration of Psychocultural and neuroscientific measures and constructs
• Increase the visibility of such integrative research, both within the academy, and outside
• Train the next generation of scientists capable of conducting research that integrates Psychocultural and neuroscientific influences
• Increase the public awareness of the importance of such integrative research

Objectives:

• Serve as a scientific and professional reference group for all in the states of Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Utah who identify themselves as scientists or practitioners in disciplines and activities that utilizes the principles and practices of behavior analysis
• Promote basic and applied research that will advance understanding of human and other animal behavior
• Identify and promote the use of effective treatment procedures in the educational, therapeutic and habilitation needs of persons in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Utah within the ethical guidelines set forth by the Behavior Analysis Certification Board
• Organize and sponsor an annual conference that will serve as a forum for presentation of scientific research, technological achievements and demonstrations of successful transfer of technologies. Presentations bridging animal and human research are particularly welcome
• Promote the development and expansion of education, training, and employment in the field of behavior analysis
• Support efforts of allied organizations in providing evidence-based behavior analytic services
