The International Council on Medical and Care Compunetics [ICMCC], founded in 2004, focuses on the interaction between consumers and caregivers; between caregivers; between consumers or caregivers and their tools; between the various tools — in short, networking.

Objectives:

  • Stimulate awareness of the various services from professional providers and business to consumers (B2C), being distinct from the previous concept of Telemedicine, which dealt with the provision of information between the providers (B2B)
  • Stimulate awareness of a wide range of compunetic scenarios, from prevention, monitoring, short or long-term recovery treatment, to provisions for elderly, handicapped and those suffering from chronic illness or disease
  • Stimulate awareness of the empowerment to caregivers due to the added and more efficient infrastructural functionalities based on compunetics, as well the improved equipment for all kinds of treatments
  • Stimulate interaction (networking) between research and industry to help both parties to find partners in their efforts to bring medical and care compunetics to an even more advanced stage. ICMCC will not only focus on SMEs but also involve parties from the medical, care as well as pharmaceutical industries and research agencies and funders
