About:

The Drug Dependence Research Center is interested in the study of the pharmacology, physiology and psychology of commonly abused drugs in humans. Although the toll of drug abuse is well known, the mechanisms by which drugs produce their effects are often obscure. The Center seeks to clarify the effects of abused drugs and find better methods of treating the complications resulting from drug abuse. It works exclusively with humans and use experimental paradigms where pharmacologically active doses of abusable drugs are studied under controlled laboratory conditions in volunteers.
