About: | The Child Study Center [CSC] is a department at Yale University School of Medicine that brings together multiple disciplines to further the understanding of the problems of children and families. About: | Young Minds is a registered charity which was set up in 1989 and grew out of the Child Guidance Trust.. It works to promote the mental health of childen and young people. Young Minds represents a unique alliance of 21 professional bodies in the field of child and adolescent mental health, and more than a thousand group and individual members.
Key aims:
Young Minds advises local commissioners and purchasers on needs assessment and the effective joint-commissioning of child and adolescent mental health services. In 1997, Young Minds launched a customised consultancy and training service. Much of Young Minds' work is devoted to making sure policy-makers at national and local level take account of the mental health needs of children,young people and their families. Its national Parents Information Service for parents, carers and professionals takes calls from people worried about the emotional well-being of a child. Backed up by an exclusive database of services around the country, the front-line staff of Young Minds can put callers in touch with local helping agencies, as well as providing written information. |
