- On the first postoperative day, the
patients visual acuity was light perception OD with intraocular
pressure of 42 mm Hg.
- Examination was notable for a clear
cornea with a closed laceration, an 80% epithelial defect, an
aphakic depth anterior chamber, and a full silicone oil fill
of the vitreous cavity.
- The retina was flat on and posterior
to the scleral buckle, except in the area of inferotemporal
hemorrhage.
TREATMENT
- Diamox® 250 mg po, qid;
- Prednisolone acetate 1% every hour while
awake;
- Atropine 1% qid;
- Ciloxan® qid; and
- Cosopt® and Alphagan® bid.
- The patient also received prednisone
75 mg po and Pepcid® 20 mg po daily for 7 days.
