Case: An 87-year-old man with a 20-year history of insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, a past medical history of hypertension, and a past ocular history including cataract extraction with posterior chamber intraocular lens (PCIOL) placement OD, underwent reportedly uncomplicated cataract extraction with PCIOL placement OS. He was treated with topical ciprofloxacin (Ciloxan) (q6h) and prednisolone acetate (1%, q1h) 5 days before undergoing examination at our clinic in May 1997. |
