CASE OF THE MONTH

CASE #6

HOW SHOULD THE PATIENT BE TREATED?
The cataract was removed using phacoemulsification and a PCIOL was inserted. Histopathological examination of the excised tissue revealed lens fragments and inflammatory cells, along with peripheral iris with a mononuclear infiltrate. Three months later, the visual acuity was 20/25 OS, and the anterior chamber was free of cells and flare. Peripheral anterior synechiae remained inferiorly at the 2-o’clock position.
