WHAT IS THE FINAL DIAGNOSIS AND SYSTEMIC WORKUP?

Final Diagnosis:

  • Absolute scotoma secondary to an arteriolar occlusion
  • Hypercoagulable state or a local factor

Systemic Workup:

6/2000:

  • Sedimentation rate: 3mm/h (Normal: 30 or less mm/h)
  • Systemic lab workup (glucose, BUN, creatinine, electrolytes, CBC, PT, PTT): Normal

11/2000:

  • ANA: Negative
  • RPR: Nonreactive
  • RF: <20 IU/ml (Normal: <20 IU/ml)
  • Cardiolipin AB (IGG, A, M): 1MPL (Ref 0-9)
  • Homocysteine: 7.6 umol/L (Ref: <9.0 umol/L)
  • Antithrombin 3: 34 mg/dL (Ref: 19-30mg/dL)
