Case: A 15-year-old girl was referred for examination and treatment of retinal detachment OD. According to the parents, decreased vision and nystagmus were present shortly after birth. The patients visual acuity was 20/200 OD and 20/80 OS. Bilateral pendular rotatory nystagmus was present. The pupils were equal and sluggishly reactive to light. The eyes were moderately deep set. On retinoscopy, the refractive error was plano OD and -0.50 +0.50 x 180 OS. The slit lamp examination revealed trace anterior chamber flare OU and trace cell and flare in the anterior vitreous OD. All other findings from the anterior segment examination (including intraocular pressure) were normal. |
