CASE OF THE MONTH

CASE #6

HOW WOULD YOU TREAT THE PATIENT AT THIS POINT?
Because no definite source for the anterior chamber mas was found, an anterior chamber paracentesis was performed using a short 30-gauge needle attached to a tuberculin syringe. There was no contact between the needle tip and the lens. Posterior synechiolysis was carried out with a 27-gauge cannula and Healon®. After synechiolysis, a small anterior lens capsule dehiscence was noted at the 5-o’clock position, approximately midway between the visual axis and the lens equator. Postoperative lens examination revealed a mature cataract.

What does the histology of the fine needle aspiration biopsy demonstrate?
