CASE OF THE MONTH

CASE #10

WHAT ARE THE FLUORESCEIN ANGIOGRAM FINDINGS?

Fluorescein angiogram OD: The elevated circular retinal lesion displays well-defined and increasing fluorescence probably representing staining by fluorescein. The blood evident in the fundus photograph appears hypofluorescent and blocks the underlying choroidal fluorescence. The oval lesion displays a mild granular hyperfluorescence that represents a window defect. There is also some late dye staining in this area. The granular hypofluorescence seen in the area surrounding these lesions is probably secondary to RPE pigmentary changes from chronic subretinal fluid.

Fluorescein angiogram OS: Normal

What further history should be elicited from the patient?
