We are setting up two ways to search the Lindex. One will
search the MicroLindex and one will search the MacroLindex.
(To see the difference between the MicroLindex and MacroLindex

MicroLindex Search (database search):
For each entry in the Lindex there is a Database record
that records the following variables:
Author(s)
Year(s) of Publication
Year(s) of study
Sources of data (including Journal/Publication, Volume,
Issue, Page Numbers)
Origins of authors
Origins of study population
Number of Jews and non-Jews
Findings by total, males and females (higher, lower, no
difference, level of statistical significance)
Nature of study (morbidity, mortality)
Study design (Vital Statistics, Census Data, Interview,
Questionnaire, Laboratory, Clinical/ Case Study, History,
Case Registry, Record Review /History, Historical Review,
Field Observation, Clinical and Laboratory, Literature Review,
Clinical)
(Please note: not all Lindex entries have all the variables)
MacroLindex Search (textfile search):
For more than 90% of the Lindex entries there is also a
textfile that gives the critical bibliographical information
about the study as well as an abstract/summary of the article,
and in many cases a table with the findings is included.
